BUSH FIRE FIGHTERS
Bush fires throughout Africa and globally are having detrimental effects on the environment, wildlife habitats, animals and communities. However, in a small rural area of Zimbabwe (Hurungwe), the chief in conjunction with Carbon Green Africa has started a fire fighting project. Each village within the area has seven volunteer fire fighters that are trained to combat fires as well as prevent them from occurring. This initiative is a recent development but the positive effects can already be seen as grasslands flourish and trees are no longer burning to ash. Due to the success of this programme, Carbon Green would like to expand this initiative throughout Zimbabwe, as well as continue to support the Hurungwe area and help it grow. Through your support we can stop the spread bush fires in Zimbabwe and therefore protect critical pieces of global habitat.
